1. What is your style of photography?
We offer artistic & creative story telling through romantic wedding photos in a photojournalism style format. We pay attention to details and use advanced photography and post-production techniques to present your unique story. See our Photography Services Page for more details.
2. Do I need to do an engagement photo session?
An engagement photo session is highly recommended for the best experience and photos. There is a lot going on during your wedding day. The engagement session is a great introduction to what your wedding day will be like. It will be much easier to take a great photo on your wedding day if our process isn’t completely new to you. Getting comfortable in front of the camera is important for capturing the real you.
3. Who will shoot my wedding day?
The lead shooter will most likely be myself, if I am not your photographer, be assured that you will still get the same style that I offer. All of our photographers are very experienced and capable of reproducing my style of shooting.
4. How much time should we set aside for photos on our wedding day?
Total time of coverage is typically 10-12 hours, but we are flexible. Everyone has different ceremonies for their special day. You will be advised how much time to set aside for portraits based on everything else you have planned for that day.
5. How much post-production do you apply?
Post-production is mostly to balance colors, contrast and brightness. We want you to look like yourselves so we keep our editing light, but quality is always our aim.
6. How long is the turn-around from shooting to receiving our photos/album?
You will receive preview photos within a few days. Final edits for engagement photos are about 1-2 weeks. Final edits for wedding photos are about 4-6 weeks. Albums depend on the printing company and which options you choose.
7. How many photos will we receive? Will I receive every photo you shoot?
We won’t include any shots that aren’t expressive of the moment we are capturing. You will receive 50-100 edited photos per hour, depending on how much is happening, but this is typically enough to tell your story.
8. What other services do you offer?
Besides wedding photography, we offer photo booth and videography services as well as photography for other events like birthdays and bar mitzvahs. Outside of your wedding day, we offer album design, studio sessions and family portraits. I would not be here today if it was not for my wife’s traditional khmer clothing rental shop.
9. Do you cover other kinds of events?
Yes, although we are focused primarily on weddings, we cover all kinds of events like birthdays, sweet 16s, quinceaneras, bar mitzvahs, family reunions, sporting events and holiday parties.
10. Do you offer studio headshots or family portraits?
Of course! Just contact us with a date that works for you.
11. How do I book you for our wedding?
Click Here to Contact Us, or use the contact menu button at the top of the page.
12. Do you offer partial day rates?
Yes we are flexible with our time, but we do have a minimum of 4 hours of coverage for a wedding.
13. What if we go over the contracted amount of time?
If you need us to stay longer than our contracted amount of time, there will be an hourly rate added on. The hourly rate will be based on the original contract, so there won’t be any surprises.
14. Will I be charged for down-time?
On the day of a wedding, we dedicate the whole day to you. We might spend time in between events for backing up images, setting up for another shot, traveling to a venue, or if some kind of delay causes us to lose time earlier, we use that time to make it up later, or catch some extra shots. We are always on our feet, so there really is no down-time.
15. What if we need to cancel or postpone our wedding date?
Your commitment fee will be transferred to the new date in the case of a postponement. In the event the wedding is cancelled the fee is generally not refundable, but we address each case individually.
16. Do you travel to meet clients? What if we are too busy to have a meeting?
If distance is an issue with meeting, I will usually set up a video call, but I’m flexible. Let me know how far you are from Long Beach, CA and we might be able to set something up.
17. Do you cover destination weddings?
Yes, we love to travel!
18. Are you going to blog about me?
Never without your permission, but we love to show off our work!
